Xerocrassa meda belongd to the family of hairy land snails (Hygromiidae). It is native to Greece, Italy and Malta, hence having a restricted central-east Mediterranean distibution. It is rather scarce and found in rural areas close to urbanisation, garden, disturbed urban areas and sometimes parks. One specimen in this collection was collected by Alan Outen under rubble stones in Rabat, Malta, in April 2015.
